The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) marked a significant achievement, commemorating five years of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). The program has been instrumental in addressing labour shortages and fostering regional growth through immigration. Since its inception, RNIP has successfully onboarded over 500 eligible employers and issued over 900 recommendation letters, helping more than 1,200 persons settle in Thunder Bay. The initiative has primarily supported healthcare, food services, and retail sectors, with 89% of participating employers using the program to retain valued employees.
